There is a taxi rank a couple of minutes walk from the apartment.
Cala Major is the first town west of Palma and is an 'all year round' resort with most of the shops, bars and restaurants staying open throughout the winter months. The King of Spain spends August here in his Summer Palace.
The sandy beach is 5 minutes walk and has a small beach restaurant which is open during the summer months for drinks, pizzas and ice cream etc.
The apartment is large and spacious with two double bedrooms - one ensuite. There is a second bathroom and also a double sofa-bed which is separate from the living area. The dining area seats 4 but chairs can be brought in from the terrace to seat more inside. The TV receives Spanish TV and also has some English programmes via satellite. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the usual appliances.
Air conditioning / heating is included in the rental price as is all bed linen and towels. Beach towels are available on request at a rental rate of £3.50 (5 Euros) each (just to cover the extra laundry costs). Rentals longer than one week have a weekly clean and change of bedlinen and towels (but not beach towels).
The large terrace has a brick built BBQ and table with six chairs plus a parasol, there is also another table with four chairs under the covered terrace. There are two sun loungers. Both bedrooms and the living room have doors opening onto the terrace which has a partial sea view.
The communal swimming pool has a good supply of sunloungers and chairs. There is also a pleasant communal garden area.
Cala Major is conveniently situated for exploring the island with motorway access 2 minutes away. This motorway will either take you west towards the marina, fashionable shops, bars and restaurants of Portals Nous or east to Palma and the main routes that fan out across the island.
