There are many blue-flag,unspoilt beaches nearby which are popular with the Spanish during the summer months, although they are never overcrowded. A palm-lined paseo stretches around the whole bay and there are numerous bars/restaurants where you can enjoy a 3 course menu del dia for around 7 or 8 euro.

For Golf enthusiasts the nearest club is only 5 minutes drive away, and only 30 mins from La Manga.

Places of interest include Cartagena, with its navel tradition and historical sites, Murcia for its architecture, and inland the traditional hilltop village of Aledo and the Sierra Espuna national park is a must for walkers/hikers.

A weekly market provides opportunities for bargain-hunting and to purchase locally grown produce.
