Finca Alboran lies in 3 acres of land with Olive trees, Almonds, Carobs, Figs and Oaks. Around the house are planted flowering shrubs, fruit trees, palms etc.
The surrounding fields are full of wildlife, with a huge variety of wild flowers in winter and Spring. It is the perfect place “to get away from it all”. Very private and peaceful, also an ideal base for day trips to places like Ronda, Granada, Jerez, Cadiz, Seville and the Atlantic coast.
This part of Andalucia is a paradise for walking, mountain-biking, exploring, riding and bird watching. It has beautiful views to the coast over miles of unspoilt countryside.
This spacious country house is situated 1KM below the village and is reached by car on an unmade track. The track is steep and rough in places but perfectly passable; it keeps the traffic away. We do recommend a family sized car in order to negotiate the track.
The centre of the house is a large living/dining room with a log burning Nordic stove (with glass doors). The house has full central heating and a large central ceiling fan in the main room with portable fans for the bedrooms.
There is a downstairs bathroom with bath/shower and WC. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, gas cooker/oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, china, glasses and cutlery for eight people. There are plenty of saucepans, cooking gear and all the rest that make a house a home, including toys, games, and an interesting variety of books. An iron and ironing board are provided. Double doors leads to the covered terrace with barbecue, al fresco dining and sunbathing areas.
From the kitchen, a short corridor leads to the bedrooms, the lower of which has one double and two single beds. Double doors lead onto the terrace. Stairs lead up to a separate WC on the landing. The master bedroom has stunning views, a double bed and a bed for under fives (only on request). There is a I-pod docking station with radio/alarm clock. The en suite bathroom is fitted with double sinks, bath/shower, bidet and a heated towel rail. A hair-dryer is provided.
The property is supplied with mains water, 220 volt Electricity and piped Gas, for heating, hot water and cooking.
The Satellite TV has all the UK Freesat channels including all BBC and ITV as well as Film 4, Sky news etc. There is a VCR and a choice of videos at the house too. We also have a DVD player and many good DVD’s. We’re rather short on children’s videos/DVD’s. We also have all the Spanish terrestrial channels.
We do make our telephone available for emergencies with a good mobile reception too.
There is WiFi internet access in the main living area and to some extent in the patios outside.
There are 2 cots and a highchair available on request, a small surcharge applies.
Next to the main house is the original bread oven and beyond that is the charming small stone house next to the pool. This has a single bed and is an ideal spot for a siesta.
We also have an out-door table tennis.

The pool is just a few meters away across the shaded patio with wonderful views to the south and west. Around the pool are terraces on different levels, some shaded by olive and carob trees, others perfect for sun bathing. You’ll find deck chairs and outdoor furniture around the pool, as well as a hammock between the olive trees.
The pool has a length of 12 1/2 metres and a width of 5 metres (40’ long 16’ wide). At the deep end the pool is safe for diving with a depth of 2.5 meters to 1.4 metres at the shallow end ( 8.1’ and 4.5 'shallow end) and may also be enjoyed at night with its underwater lighting.

Gaucin is a typical, unspoilt white village, with many food shops, a chemist, banks, bars and several restaurants. Overlooking the village are the ruins of a Moorish castle giving incomparable views over to the Mediterranean coast, North Africa and Gibraltar. Inland you see the state-owned cork forests which are a nature reserve.
The village has a public pool with tennis courts, a couple of riding schools are also found in the vicinity.
Throughout the year Gaucin has many fascinating fiestas, traditional Saints days and the ‘Semana-Santa’ (holy-week) processions. In August Gaucin celebrates its ‘Feria’ with fairground and dancing.
Nearby are many other beautiful towns and villages. The grandest is Ronda with its famous gorge and the oldest Bullring in Spain. A few kilometres down the Valley is the river Genal, a good spot for Fishing, swimming and exploring.
The Mediterranean beaches are half an hours drive away, while the Atlantic coast with its fine white sand and famous wind surfing is one and a half hours drive.
