Local markets are held different days and fresh fruits, food and vegetables are extremely cheap. Some of the most beautiful scenery in Spain is to be found here with lush sugar cane, fruit plantations, rugged snow-capped mountains, coves and beaches, pine forests and almond groves. For the sports enthusiast, there are ample opportunities for watersports, walking, climbing, golf and skiing in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The ancient city of Granada is less than one hour by car and Malaga is approximately 60 kms away, and served by the N340 to Nerja.
